Louis Rees-Zammit has been named at full-back for Wales’ Six Nations opener against England at Twickenham on Saturday. It will be his first Six Nations match in almost three years after returning from a spell in American football, and his fourth start at full-back for Wales.
Scarlets pair Josh Macleod and Eddie James return after missing the autumn because of injury. Macleod will make his Six Nations debut in the back row following Jac Morgan’s injury, while James starts in midfield alongside Ben Thomas. Ellis Mee joins Rees-Zammit and Josh Adams in the back three.
Dewi Lake captains the side again, with Nicky Smith and Archie Griffin joining him in the front row. Steve Tandy has named six forwards on the bench, including Tomas Francis, who could make his first Test appearance since the 2023 World Cup.
Wales come into the match on a tough run, having won only two of their last 23 Tests and none in the Six Nations since 2023. England, by contrast, have won their last 11 games and are third in the world rankings. Despite this, Tandy says the Twickenham clash is a special occasion and believes his players are ready to attack the game and give a strong performance.
