Marathe steps down as Rangers vice-chair

0

Rangers confirm Paraag Marathe has stepped down as vice-chairman.

Marathe, who joined Rangers as part of the San Francisco 49ers Enterprises group last summer, is also chairman of Leeds United. He and fellow Leeds director Gene Schneur have stepped down after talks with Uefa over multi-club ownership rules.

Rangers say the decision does not affect the 49ers’ investment in the club and there are no plans to replace them.

The move comes just before Uefa’s deadline for clubs to comply with rules that prevent conflicts if two connected clubs qualify for the same European competition.
