Erling Haaland scored a dramatic stoppage-time penalty as Manchester City came from behind to beat Liverpool at Anfield and keep the Premier League title race alive.
Liverpool looked set for victory after Dominik Szoboszlai’s brilliant free-kick gave them the lead late on, but City responded quickly. Bernardo Silva equalised in the 84th minute before Haaland calmly scored from the penalty spot in the 93rd minute after Alisson fouled Matheus Nunes.
The win cuts Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table to six points and gives Pep Guardiola a rare victory at Anfield, City’s first there since 2021. Despite a late ruled-out goal and several missed chances earlier in the game, City showed strong character to complete a memorable comeback and extend their title challenge.
