Manchester United closed the gap on WSL leaders Manchester City with a 2-0 win at struggling Leicester City.

Elisabeth Terland continued her fine scoring form, coming off the bench to score in the 88th minute — her fifth goal in as many games against Leicester. Julia Zigiotti Olme had opened the scoring in the 13th minute, giving second-placed United the lead.

Leicester, who are near the bottom of the table, showed some fight in the second half with substitutes Noemie Mouchon and Shannon O’Brien causing problems, but their efforts were not enough. United held on for a clean sheet, moving four points clear of Chelsea and keeping pressure on City at the top.
