Liverpool have agreed to sign 20-year-old Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet for £60m, but he won’t join the team until the summer. The deal includes £55m upfront and £5m in add-ons, and personal terms are expected to be straightforward.
Chelsea were also interested, but they won’t match Liverpool’s offer. The Reds are strengthening their defence, especially with Ibrahima Konate’s contract ending soon. Jacquet, a product of Rennes’ academy, has impressed in 18 appearances this season and is seen as a long-term investment for Liverpool.
