Leeds beat Birmingham in a penalty shootout to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the third time in four years.
After a dramatic 1-1 draw, Leeds held their nerve from the spot. Goalkeeper Lucas Perri saved from Tommy Doyle, and Patrick Roberts missed his penalty. Sean Longstaff scored the winning kick to send Daniel Farke’s side into the last 16.
Birmingham had pushed their Premier League opponents all the way. Patrick Roberts had earlier scored a brilliant 89th-minute equaliser to force extra time.
Leeds had taken the lead through Nmecha, but Birmingham created plenty of chances and were unlucky not to win it late on. In the end, penalties decided the tie, with Leeds coming out on top.
