Lancashire have signed former Australia captain Meg Lanning for the 2026 T20 Blast. The 33-year-old played 241 matches for Australia across all formats, scoring 17 centuries, and led the national team from 2014 until retiring in 2023.
Lanning has been a regular in franchise cricket, including the WBBL, WPL, and The Hundred, but this will be her first experience in the county game. She described joining Lancashire Thunder as “really exciting” and praised the club’s commitment to growing women’s cricket in England.
Lancashire director David Thorley said Lanning’s signing is “hugely significant,” highlighting her record as one of the finest batters and leaders in women’s cricket and the immediate impact she will have on the squad.
