Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool survived a scare in the doubles to help Great Britain beat Norway 4-0 and reach the final round of Davis Cup qualifying. The Wimbledon champions were expected to win easily but were pushed hard before edging the match 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 in Oslo.
Despite briefly losing control in the second set, Cash and Glasspool held their nerve in a tense deciding tie-break to seal Britain’s place. It marked their first Davis Cup match win as a pair.
Earlier singles wins by Jack Draper and Cameron Norrie, followed by Jacob Fearnley’s victory, completed a clean sweep for Britain against a weakened Norway side missing Casper Ruud. Great Britain will now face Ecuador or Australia later this year for a spot in the Davis Cup Finals.
