Ireland head coach Andy Farrell says the potential in his squad is “huge” after Saturday’s record Six Nations win over England at Allianz Stadium.
Ireland scored five tries in a 42-21 victory, reigniting their title hopes after earlier defeats to France, New Zealand, and South Africa. Farrell praised both the experienced players, like Caelan Doris, Joe McCarthy, and Josh van der Flier, and the rising stars Stuart McCloskey and Rob Baloucoune for their standout performances.
Farrell also highlighted that learning from the ups and downs is key in international rugby, citing legends like Brian O'Driscoll, Johnny Sexton, and Paul O'Connell as examples of players who grew through experience.
With injured players such as Mack Hansen, Hugo Keenan, and Andrew Porter set to return, Ireland’s squad looks strong 18 months ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. Ireland next host winless Wales on 6 March before finishing against Scotland in Dublin on 14 March.
