England’s Lionesses will play Ukraine at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium on 9 June in a Women’s World Cup qualifier, making them the first England team to use the venue. Hill Dickinson, which opened last summer, will host Euro 2028 matches and is on the UK’s 2035 Women’s World Cup shortlist.

The Lionesses, two-time European champions under Sarina Wiegman, are aiming for the 2027 Women’s World Cup and are in a qualifying group with Spain, Ukraine, and Iceland. They face Ukraine in Turkey on 3 March, welcome Iceland on 7 March at the City Ground, and meet defending champions Spain at Wembley on 14 April.

Wiegman said it is “very exciting” to play at Everton’s stadium and praised Liverpool’s rich football history, adding it will be a “very special evening” for the team and fans in the north-west.
