The driver involved in the crash that injured Anthony Joshua and killed two members of his team has appeared in court in Nigeria.

Joshua’s personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, died after their vehicle collided with a stationary lorry near Lagos on 29 December. The former heavyweight champion was treated in hospital and discharged two days later.

The driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and other traffic offences. He appeared at the Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state, where the case was adjourned until 13 March as prosecutors prepare their evidence.

Kayode has not yet entered a plea.
