Celtic “have found resilience and a will to keep going,” said manager Martin O’Neill after their dramatic Scottish Cup win over Dundee.
Dundee took the lead early in the second half through Ethan Hamilton’s stunning strike, but Celtic fought back late. Debutant Adamu scored with a stoppage-time backheel from substitute Sebastian Tounekti’s cross to force extra time, and Tounekti then put Celtic ahead just after the restart.
O’Neill praised his team’s determination: “The players found the inspiration, the drive, the determination to play until the very final whistle. They have found a resilience and a will to keep going.”
Celtic had chances earlier as Reo Hatate and Kieran Tierney tested Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken, while Ryan Astley should have scored for Dundee. VAR ruled a potential penalty for Dundee as a free-kick instead. The game went right to the wire, with Celtic showing the same intensity and resolve that marked O’Neill’s first spell as manager.
