Welsh boxer Lauren Price will defend her unified welterweight world titles against Puerto Rican challenger Stephanie Pineiro Aquino on Saturday, 4 April, at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena, live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
Price, 31, hasn’t fought since beating Natasha Jonas last March to add the WBC and IBF belts to her WBA title. Fighting at home in Wales for the first time in years, she says the bout means a lot to her and promises another strong performance.
Aquino, 35, is unbeaten in 10 fights but has never fought outside Puerto Rico. She says she is ready to upset the home crowd and take the titles back with her.
A win could move Price closer to becoming the undisputed world champion. The event also marks another rare night of live professional boxing on the BBC.
