Rangers’ 3-1 loss in Porto summed up their European campaign this season.
They started well, picking up wins against Panathinaikos and Viktoria Plzen, but things quickly fell apart with a heavy 6-0 defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs. That collapse was followed by a disappointing Europa League run.
Rangers managed just one win in the league phase, against Ludogorets last week, but it came too late to make a difference. By then, their European hopes were already over.
Now the focus shifts to the league, where Danny Rohl’s in-form Rangers will try to save a season that began in chaos. The next two and a half weeks will be crucial.
