Wolves turn down £33m Leeds bid for Strand Larsen

Wolves have turned down a £33m offer from Leeds United for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, which also included up to £6m in add-ons. Wolves value the Norway international at around £40m and would only sell if they receive the right price before the transfer window closes on 2 February.

Despite interest, Wolves are not desperate to sell, and the 25-year-old is expected to be part of the squad to face Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday. Head coach Rob Edwards said Strand Larsen has trained well, remains focused, and the club is under no pressure to sell any players unless it benefits Wolves.

Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League and are preparing to reshape their squad ahead of a likely relegation. Given Strand Larsen’s poor league form and growing tension with fans, he is expected to leave Molineux.

Strand Larsen joined Wolves from Celta Vigo in 2024, first on loan, before completing a £23m permanent move last summer. He scored 14 goals last season, and has six goals this season, including a recent FA Cup hat-trick against Shrewsbury, but only one goal has come in the Premier League.

Newcastle previously failed with bids of £50m and £55m in August, while Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Crystal Palace have also shown interest this month.

Wolves are also open to selling defender Emmanuel Agbadou and are in talks with Besiktas. The Turkish club has offered £13m, but Wolves want £17m for the Ivory Coast international, who joined from Reims last January.

Midfielder Joao Gomes has drawn interest from Napoli and Atletico Madrid, but he could still remain at Molineux until the end of the season.
