Antoine Semenyo marked his Manchester City debut with a goal as Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed League One Exeter City 10-1 to reach the FA Cup fourth round.
Semenyo, who joined City from Bournemouth for £65m, started the match and impressed with a goal and an assist in the second half. City were far too strong for Exeter, a team two divisions below them.
Young defender Max Alleyne opened the scoring early, before Rodri smashed in a long-range effort. Exeter’s problems grew as two own goals before half-time left City 4-0 up.
City added six more goals after the break, with strikes from Rico Lewis, Semenyo, Tijjani Reijnders, Nico O’Reilly and Ryan McAidoo. Exeter teenager George Birch scored a late consolation, but City still had time to hit a tenth.
The result matched City’s biggest-ever win, equalling their 10-1 victory over Huddersfield in 1987.
