Chelsea have named Liam Rosenior as their new head coach. The 41-year-old, who previously managed Strasbourg, has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the option for another season, replacing Enzo Maresca.
Rosenior will watch Chelsea face Fulham before leading his first training session ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Charlton Athletic. He described the job as “an honour” and said it “means the world” to him.
He will bring his Strasbourg staff—Kalifa Cisse, Justin Walker, and Ben Warner—to Stamford Bridge. Rosenior guided Strasbourg to seventh in Ligue 1 last season, securing European football for the first time in eight years, and says he cannot turn down the chance to manage a club of Chelsea’s stature.
