Nottingham Forest Close to Signing Napoli Striker Lucca

0

Nottingham Forest are close to signing Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca as they look to strengthen their attack.

Forest are set to bring in the 25-year-old on loan, with the option to buy him later. Lucca, who is expected to travel to England to complete the move, only joined Napoli last summer from Udinese but has struggled for regular playing time.

Forest manager Sean Dyche is keen to add a new striker, especially with top scorer Chris Wood still out after knee surgery in December and no clear return date.

Lucca has scored once in 16 league games for Napoli this season, mostly coming off the bench, and once in the Italian Cup. He had a much stronger season last year at Udinese, scoring 14 goals, but has found opportunities limited under Napoli boss Antonio Conte.

Forest are also looking at Napoli defender Mathias Olivera to improve their left-back options, while Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen is another striker they have considered.

Forest currently sit 17th in the Premier League, just five points above the relegation zone, and are fighting to stay up this season.
