Musiala to Return for Bayern Six Months after Leg Injury

0

Jamal Musiala is set to return to the Bayern Munich squad six months after breaking his left leg and dislocating his ankle at the Club World Cup. Bayern boss Vincent Kompany confirmed Musiala could feature in Saturday’s Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old Germany international was injured in a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma during the Club World Cup quarter-final in July, keeping him out ever since. Kompany praised Musiala’s positive energy and said even small progress feels big after such a long recovery.

Before his injury, Musiala had a stellar 2024-25 season, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists across all competitions, helping Bayern win the Bundesliga. He also scored three goals in five games for Germany at Euro 2024 and will be hoping his return strengthens his chances for the 2026 World Cup.

Kompany stressed that there will be no pressure on Musiala—or on Alphonso Davies, who is also fit again—to make an immediate impact. The focus will be on easing them back into the team and gradually getting them to full fitness.
