Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca could leave the club before Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester City, as his relationship with the club hierarchy has reportedly worsened.
The Blues have won only one of their last seven league games and are fifth in the table, sitting 15 points behind leaders Arsenal.
After the recent 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on 30 December, assistant coach Willy Caballero said Maresca was too unwell to face the media, but reports suggest he was instead thinking about his future.
There are also claims that a board meeting on New Year’s Day is planned to discuss the situation.
Despite their Premier League struggles, Chelsea have reached the Carabao Cup semi-finals, are set to resume their Champions League campaign, and will play Charlton in the FA Cup third round.
