Brennan Johnson is set to hold talks with Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on Thursday before deciding whether to complete a £35m transfer from Tottenham.
There is a growing belief the move will go through, but the meeting is seen as key to finalising the deal. Palace have already agreed a fee with Tottenham for the 24-year-old forward, but are waiting for Johnson’s approval to move ahead.
The Wales international will discuss his role in the team, as well as Palace’s future plans and ambitions, to make sure everything matches his expectations.
If the talks go well, Johnson is expected to sign for Crystal Palace in the coming days. He is the club’s top target for the January transfer window, and Palace are eager to complete the deal early.
Tottenham are open to selling Johnson, who was their top scorer last season with 18 goals. Despite scoring the winning goal in Tottenham’s Europa League final win over Manchester United, he is not part of manager Thomas Frank’s long-term plans.
