Itauma injury Delays Franklin fight until March

Moses Itauma’s fight with American Jermaine Franklin has been postponed until March after the British heavyweight suffered an injury in training.

The bout was due to take place on 24 January in Manchester but has now been rescheduled for 28 March at the same venue.

The 21-year-old Itauma, who is unbeaten in 13 fights and known for his knockout power, was most recently in action when he stopped Dillian Whyte in August.

Promoters confirmed the delay was due to an injury picked up during camp, while Franklin, who has only lost to Anthony Joshua and Whyte, remains the opponent for the rearranged fight.

The Manchester card will still feature other British fights, including Willy Hutchinson vs Ezra Taylor and Liam Davies vs Zak Miller.
