Holland to join Carrick’s Man Utd Team as Assistant

Michael Carrick to become Manchester United interim head coach, with Steve Holland as his assistant.

Carrick, 44, agreed to take over after Ruben Amorim’s sacking, and will be in charge for Saturday’s Premier League derby against Manchester City.

His coaching staff will also include Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans, and Travis Binnion, with Holland, former England assistant, set to be his number two.

Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United’s temporary boss in 2021 and impressed club officials with his hands-on coaching style and plan to switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Darren Fletcher, who managed the team for two games after Amorim’s departure, will return to the Under-18s.
