Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has said that Nigeria’s national team is about more than just striker Victor Osimhen.
Speaking ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON semi-final match against Morocco on Wednesday, Oliseh said the team’s strength comes from the whole group, not one player.
He explained that Nigeria is made up of eleven strong players working together. Oliseh added that in the past 20 years, he has not seen a Super Eagles team play as well as this one has in recent matches against Uganda, Mozambique, and Algeria.
His comments come shortly after Osimhen was involved in a heated argument on the pitch with teammate Ademola Lookman during Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Mozambique in the Round of 16. However, the issue has since been resolved.
Osimhen and Lookman both played together again in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Algeria in the quarter-finals over the weekend, showing that the team has moved on from the incident.
