Everton manager David Moyes says it’s a “big blow” that winger Jack Grealish has a stress fracture in his foot.
The 30-year-old, on loan from Manchester City, has made 22 appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing six assists. Moyes said Grealish has been “hugely important” to the team and that they are still waiting on doctors for recovery times.
Grealish played the full game as Everton beat his former club Aston Villa 1-0 on Sunday. Everton, currently 10th in the Premier League, host Leeds United on Monday. Moyes added that the club is in “close contact” with Manchester City regarding Grealish’s future during his recovery.
The injury is a setback for Grealish, who had been in good form and could have pushed for an England recall ahead of the World Cup.
