Gonzalo Garcia scored a brilliant hat-trick—his first goals in La Liga—to lead Real Madrid to a 5-1 win over Real Betis at the Bernabeu. The 21-year-old, filling in for the injured Kylian Mbappe, opened the scoring with a header, doubled the lead with a stunning volley, and completed his hat-trick with a clever backheel in the second half.
Raul Asencio also scored for Madrid, while Fran Garcia added a fifth in stoppage time. Betis pulled one back through Cucho Hernandez, but their efforts weren’t enough to stop Madrid, who reduced the gap to leaders Barcelona to four points.
Garcia’s performance showed that Madrid could cope even without Mbappe, and Xabi Alonso’s side now look strong heading into the Super Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
