Jose Mourinho made his Benfica players stay overnight at the club’s training ground after they lost 3–1 to Braga in the League Cup semi-finals. He said the players should use the time to think hard about the defeat rather than relax.
Benfica finished the match with 10 men after Nicolas Otamendi was sent off, and the loss ended their 11-game unbeaten run. Mourinho said the team will keep training at the Seixal base as they prepare for their next match against rivals Porto.
He added that there was little discussion after the game, but promised proper talks in training as the team looks to improve ahead of the Portuguese Cup clash.
