Amad Diallo starred as defending champions Ivory Coast comfortably beat Burkina Faso to reach the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals. The Manchester United winger opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a clever finish past goalkeeper Herve Koffi.
Twelve minutes later, Amad set up Yan Diomande for the second goal, and teenager Bazoumana Toure sealed a late third with a brilliant solo effort. Burkina Faso came close to scoring, but Ivorian goalkeeper Yahia Fofana made key saves to keep a clean sheet.
Ivory Coast will now face seven-time champions Egypt in the quarter-finals in Agadir on Saturday.
