American skier Lindsey Vonn continued her impressive comeback by finishing third in the downhill at Val d’Isere, giving her third podium finish in four World Cup races.

The 41-year-old, who recently became the oldest winner of a downhill World Cup race, recorded her 141st World Cup podium. She finished the race in 1 minute 41.89 seconds, just 0.35 seconds behind winner Cornelia Huetter of Austria, while Germany’s Kira Weidle-Winkelmann came second.

Vonn had not competed at Val d’Isere for eight years. She returned to competitive skiing in December 2024, nearly five years after retiring in 2019 due to injury, following a partial knee replacement.

With the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics now just weeks away, Vonn is building strong momentum as she aims to add to her four World Cup titles and three Olympic medals. Her recent form suggests she is on course to represent the United States at the 2026 Winter Games.

The downhill race was part of the current World Cup season, which continues with more events leading up to the finals in Norway, while Val d’Isere concludes with a super-G race on Sunday.
