Salah Should Pull back from Comments, Says Gerrard

Steven Gerrard has said Mohamed Salah must “reverse away” from his comments after the forward claimed he had been “thrown under the bus” by Liverpool.

Salah made the remarks after a Premier League draw at Leeds, saying he had been blamed for the club’s poor form and that his relationship with manager Arne Slot had broken down.

The Egypt forward was left out of the squad that travelled to Inter Milan for the Champions League win, although Slot said Salah could return.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Gerrard said Salah was emotional and too quick to speak. He said the comments about being “thrown under the bus” were wrong and that Salah should “reverse a little bit away from that” and handle the issue privately with the manager.

Gerrard compared the situation to Luis Suárez’s fallout with manager Brendan Rodgers in 2013, when Suárez was made to train alone but later returned to the squad.

There are also reports linking Salah with a possible move to Saudi Arabian clubs in January, despite him signing a new contract in April.

Salah has been a key player in Liverpool’s success since joining from Roma in 2017, helping win Premier League titles and the Champions League, but he has scored just four goals in 13 league games this season, with Liverpool currently 10th.
