England Set for March Games Against Uruguay and Japan

0

England will play against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley in March in their last two matches before head coach Thomas Tuchel picks his squad for the 2026 World Cup.

They will face Uruguay on Friday, 27 March, and Japan on Tuesday, 31 March. Tuchel is expected to announce his final World Cup squad in May.

Tuchel said he is happy the games have been arranged because he wants England to test themselves against strong teams from outside Europe. Uruguay are ranked 16th and Japan 18th in the world, and both have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place from 11 June to 19 July in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

England are also likely to play two warm-up matches in America before the tournament.
They have been drawn in Group L with Croatia, Ghana, and Panama, and will play all their group games in the United States.

Their matches are scheduled as follows:

vs Croatia – 17 June (21:00 BST)

vs Ghana – 23 June (21:00 BST)

vs Panama – 27 June (22:00 BST)
