Mohamed Salah is back in the Liverpool squad for Saturday’s match against Brighton after having a positive talk with head coach Arne Slot. Slot decided to include Salah because several Liverpool players are injured and the team needs him, even though some issues between Salah and the club are still not fully resolved.
Salah had been left out of the Inter Milan Champions League trip after saying he had been “thrown under the bus” and that his relationship with Slot had broken down. He had also hinted that the Brighton game could be his goodbye to Anfield.
Slot said he still wants Salah to stay and their conversation would decide what happens next. Salah has recently been on the bench and hasn’t started a game since late November.
With Liverpool short of attackers and Salah set to leave soon for the Africa Cup of Nations, the club felt it was best to bring him back into the squad for the Brighton match.
