Laura Woods says she’s fine after collapsing while presenting ITV’s coverage of England’s friendly against Ghana in Southampton on Tuesday.
The incident happened in the opening minutes of the broadcast, and pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante helped catch her. ITV quickly cut to an advert break. When the show returned, colleague Katie Shanahan confirmed that Woods had been “taken ill.”
Woods later posted on Instagram that doctors said it was likely a virus. She wrote: “Sorry to worry everyone, I’m OK. Just need a bit of rest and hydration.” She thanked her colleagues for helping her and joked about being embarrassed by the incident.
Her fiancé, reality TV star Adam Collard, reassured fans on social media: “Laura is all OK and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages.”
At half-time, Shanahan added: “We want to reassure you that she's doing OK. We all send her our love.”
Laura Woods regularly presents both men’s and women’s football for ITV and TNT Sports and has also worked as a radio presenter on Talksport.
