Kerr and Bronze score as Chelsea reach the Quarter-finals

Chelsea booked their place in the Women’s Champions League quarter-finals after coming from behind to beat Wolfsburg.

The Blues secured automatic qualification with goals from Lucy Bronze and Sam Kerr, finishing in the top four of the league phase. However, the match was far from straightforward.

Wolfsburg were the better team early on and took a deserved lead when Alexandra Popp scored after a mistake from Chelsea goalkeeper Livia Peng. The German side had chances to add to their lead but were punished just before half-time when Bronze headed in an equaliser from a corner.

Chelsea took control in the second half, hitting the post before Kerr scored the winner with a looping header. Wolfsburg threatened late on, hitting the bar, but Chelsea held on to seal their place in the last eight.

The quarter-final draw will take place on Thursday, 18 December.
