Jordan Henderson paid an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota after scoring his first league goal in four years during Brentford’s draw with Leeds.
After finding the net, Henderson copied Jota’s famous gaming-style celebration to honour his former Liverpool team-mate, who tragically died earlier this year. Henderson said Jota was a close friend and wanted to dedicate the rare goal to him.
The goal was Henderson’s first in the Premier League since 2021, and the 35-year-old later became Brentford’s oldest scorer, underlining both the emotional and historic nature of the moment.
