Australia opener Travis Head said he contacted England batter Ben Duckett after a video circulated online before the Melbourne Test, appearing to show Duckett drunk.
The clip, which has not been independently verified, led to an investigation into England players reportedly drinking during a break in Noosa between the second and third Ashes Tests. Head said he wanted to check on Duckett, adding that “everyone is still human” and personal time is up to the individual.
Head downplayed the fuss, saying people have made more of it than necessary and noting similar behaviour had occurred on previous tours.
