Haaland nets two as Man City climb to top of Premier League

0

Erling Haaland scored twice as Manchester City beat struggling West Ham 3-0 to claim a fifth straight Premier League win and move to the top of the table. City are now one point ahead of Arsenal, who could reclaim first if they beat Everton later.

West Ham’s hopes were dashed early when Haaland scored after his first shot was saved. The Norway striker almost added another soon after but missed a close-range header. Tijjani Reijnders made it 2-0 just before half-time after a neat pass from Haaland.

West Ham tried to fight back in the second half, but Jarrod Bowen missed two chances, and Haaland’s second goal sealed a tough Christmas for the Hammers, who remain in the relegation zone.
