Everton handed Nottingham Forest their third straight defeat thanks to goals from James Garner and Thierno Barry.
Garner, a former Forest loanee who helped them gain promotion in 2022, scored his first goal since August and his second in over two years. Barry added a second for Everton, marking just his second goal since joining from Villarreal in the summer—both against Forest.
Everton are now eighth, with five wins in their last nine games, just four points off the top four. Forest remain 17th, struggling despite dominating possession.
Garner opened the scoring in the 19th minute from Dwight McNeill’s pass, and Barry sealed the win with a finish from Garner’s through-ball. Forest’s best chance came from Igor Jesus, while James Tarkowski also went close for Everton.
