Former France defender William Gallas has said that Declan Rice is one of the best midfielders in the world, but not the very best right now.
Instead, Gallas believes Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha is currently the best midfielder in the world.
Rice has been widely praised for his performances for Arsenal and England, with some fans and pundits calling him the world’s top midfielder. Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo has also been mentioned in similar debates.
However, Gallas feels Vitinha stands above the rest. Speaking to OLBG, he said Rice is among the elite but insisted the PSG and Portugal star is better at the moment.
Vitinha, 25, has impressed since joining PSG in 2022 and played a key role in their recent success, including winning Ligue 1, the Champions League, and other trophies last season.
