Ekiti United have shown their frustration after losing 2-1 to Sporting Lagos in their Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday seven clash on Monday.

The game was played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, where Bolarinwa Idris’s side felt they did enough to get a better result but were left disappointed by the outcome.

Despite the defeat, Ekiti United thanked their supporters for standing by the team, both those who travelled to Lagos and fans who followed the match online.

“Not the result we deserved despite all the hard work put into the match, as we suffered a 2–1 defeat against Sporting Lagos,” the club said in a statement after the game.

The loss leaves Ekiti United fourth in the Conference B standings with 12 points from seven matches.
