Former England striker Andy Carroll is set to appear in court after being arrested for allegedly breaching a non-molestation order.

The 36-year-old, who previously played for Newcastle, Liverpool and England, was arrested in April over an incident said to have happened in March. Carroll, who now plays for Dagenham and Redbridge, is due at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.

A non-molestation order is a court order that stops someone from contacting or going near another person. Breaking it can lead to serious punishment, including a fine or even a prison sentence.
