Cris Cyborg says she plans to retire in 2026 so she can chase new dreams, including becoming a vet. The 40-year-old MMA legend has spent nearly 20 years winning titles in almost every major promotion and has not lost a fight since 2018.
Cyborg says her upcoming fight against Sara Collins will be the second-to-last of her career, and that next year will close the chapter on her time in MMA. She explained that after two decades of fighting, she wants to study veterinary medicine and work on her ranch in Brazil.
Widely seen as one of the greatest women’s fighters ever, Cyborg has won championships in the UFC, Strikeforce, Invicta, and Bellator. She hopes to finish her career with more bouts next year, including some boxing matches, before officially stepping away in 2026.
