Bryce and Sproul Named in Scotland Squad for Nepal Trip

Captain Kathryn Bryce and Pippa Sproul are back in the Scotland women’s cricket squad for the T20 World Cup Qualifier in Nepal.

Scotland, coached by Craig Wallace, will compete with nine other teams for four spots at next year’s World Cup in England. The games will run from 12 January to 2 February.

In Group A, Scotland will play Ireland, Thailand, the United States and Zimbabwe as they aim to reach the “super six” stage. Group B includes Bangladesh, Namibia, Nepal, the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea.

Last month, Scotland had a mixed tournament, beating Uganda, Tanzania, the UAE, Namibia and Papua New Guinea, but losing to the Netherlands and hosts Thailand at the Emerging Nations Trophy.

Coach Wallace said the time spent in Thailand helped the team get back into the rhythm of playing T20 cricket. He said they worked on new tactics and handled tough matches that tested them under pressure.

He added that having Kathryn Bryce return is a big boost because she’s a world-class player and a strong leader. He praised Sarah Bryce and Abtaha Maqsood for leading the team well in her absence.

Wallace also welcomed Pippa Sproul’s return, noting she had an excellent summer and earned a contract with Hampshire. She missed the Thailand tournament due to school commitments, but he’s excited to see her back and performing again.
