Atletico Madrid boosted their top-eight hopes by holding on for a narrow Champions League win over PSV. PSV scored first when Guus Til tapped into an empty net, but they wasted chances to extend their lead. Atletico made them pay, equalising through Julian Alvarez after PSV were caught out playing short from a goal-kick.
David Hancko then put Atletico ahead early in the second half, and Alexander Sorloth made it 3–1 with a free header. PSV pulled one back late on through Ricardo Pepi and pushed hard for an equaliser, but Atletico defended well and survived the pressure.
The result lifts Atletico Madrid up to seventh in the table, while PSV drop to 19th.
