Liverpool and Bayern Munich keen on Man City's Phillips
About to embark on his second season at
Manchester City, Kalvin Phillips' future may not yet be secure. Having made just 21 appearances last season, with just four starts and no goals or assists, the English international may still be looking for a way out.
Liverpool have the 27-year-old on their radar having lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho from their midfield and are looking to rebuild. Phillips was key for Leeds before his move to Manchester, and the Reds utilise his experience and energy to bring depth to their midfield.
Jurgen Klopp's side most recently lost out on midfield options Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, and with just nine days to go in the window they will be keen to sort something quickly.
Bayern's interest arises from manager Thomas Tuchel who was reportedly impressed with the Englishman while the German managed the Blues. The German champions are looking to ship out midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, and could use Phillips as a replacement.
