Dunc: Everton REJECTED Haaland at 15 years of age

Everton turned down the chance to sign Erling Haaland, according to Duncan Ferguson.

The Toffees do not have the best record with transfers over the past decade, despite spending a lot of money.

Now a club legend has confirmed that Norway and Manchester City star Haaland could have been a Toffee if things had gone another way.

The possibility of signing Haaland came when he was a teenager at his boyhood club Bryne in Norway.

On the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Ferguson explained: "I mean my God, what a phenomenal player Erling Haaland is

“He's going to be incredible, isn't he? But believe it or not, he was in at Everton. His dad had brought him in at Everton and they never signed him."

He added: "He was brought in at about 15 or 16 years of age and the team he was with at the time wanted a couple of million quid for him and Everton wouldn't buy him. Everton didn't think it was the right move for them at the time."
