Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed they can buy back Romeo Lavia.
The Belgian teen was sold to Southmapton over the summer and immediately attracted a failed £50m offer from Chelsea.
Asked about his former prospect, Guardiola said: "He left when we got a good offer for him and (it was a good opportunity for) his development.
"We have an option in the future just to be safe."
It's understood City can buy back Lavia for a set £40m fee.
