West Ham remain in Broja and Scamacca talks

Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth:

"We were told that West Ham wanted to bring in a minimum of six new players in this transfer window and a month and a bit in, they've already recruited three.

"They've brought in Nayef Aguerd, the central defender, they've turned Alphonse Areola's loan into a permanent deal and Flynn Downes, the midfielder, joined from Swansea.

"A striker is a priority position though and two of the names being linked with West Ham are Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca. West Ham do remain in talks with Chelsea for Broja - he had an impressive loan spell with Southampton in the first half of last season.

"West Ham looked at that and thought, ‘he's got Premier League experience under his belt - now this is someone we want to pursue’. They're still in talks with Chelsea over that.

"But Broja has actually flown out to the US to join up with Chelsea for their pre-season tour because the feeling is Thomas Tuchel wants to actually have a look at him before making a decision on his future. We do think though, that West Ham want to pursue a permanent deal.

"The Scamacca one is very interesting because West Ham are pushing to sign the Sassuolo striker - they're in talks about a fee. We think Sassuolo want around €50m (£42m). PSG are also interested but, as it stands, we think PSG aren't willing to meet that valuation."
