AC Milan are in the driving seat to secure the signature of Lille defender Sven Botman.
The centre-half has emerged as a key target for the Italian champions, along with Premier League outfit Newcastle United.
According to Football Insider, Newcastle have been hot on the heels of Botman for several months.
However, the past 24 hours has seen Milan emerge as the frontrunners for his signature.
Even though Newcastle can outbid the Serie A club through their superior finances, Botman wants to join Milan.
Lille will take the player's views into consideration, but want a fee of at least £30 million.
