Man Utd hoping to use PSG winter break to swoop for Pochettino

Manchester United are hoping to use PSG's winter break to persuade Mauricio Pochettino to become their next manager.

The Argentine is interested in succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United boss.

Solskjaer was sacked on Sunday after a dismal defeat to Watford over the weekend.

A move at the end of the season seems most realistic, with Michael Carrick put in charge as interim manager.

However, the Evening Standard says United could try to use the break to approach Pochettino when the Ligue 1 goes on break from December 22 and January 7.

Pochettino's wife and youngest son still live in London and the 49-year-old is expected to return to the UK over Christmas.

This time would also allow PSG to find a suitable replacement for Pochettino.

The Parisians used last season's winter break to sack Thomas Tuchel and replace him with Pochettino.

They could be open to another move next month should Zinedine Zidane express interest in moving to the Parc de Princes.
